Today we learnt about fractions. The Numerator means how manypieces or parts have been shaded out, the Denominator means how many pices or parts there are and the Viclum shows the line seperating the Denominator and the Numerator.

Sensational Subtraction
We are learning to solve subtraction problems using decimal numbers.
List 3 prime numbers: 1 5 7
List the factors of 24: 1 2 4 6 8 12 24
List the common factors of 24 and 48:

Mr Burt has $1000 in the maths budget at the start of the year.
He starts by purchasing 650 maths books, at $0.30 each. His total spend is: $195
How much does he have left? 455
Next he spends $167.70 on rulers and protractors
How much is left now? $287.30
Then he purchases 5 text books, which cost $26.50 each. The 5 textbooks cost:
132.50
How much does he have left?
155.80
Finally he spends $6.70 on stickers.
How much does he have left?
149.10
4 – 0.768 = 4.232.

Today we had to do the multiples of some of these numbers that you will see on this slideshow.
You will also see factors and what is the LCF/HCF Lowest Common Factor/ Highest Common Factor.
Here are our Number multiples.
We coloured the multiples of 3 green which were triangles, The multiples of 5 which were stars that we coloured yellow, The circles that were all odd Numbers and the squares that were in the multiples of four were squares which were coloured light blue.
We coloured the prime numbers pink because they can only be divided by themselves and one.
